Excavation & Site Prep
Grading, digging, and base work done by the same crew that pours your concrete.
Excavation & Site Preparation in McMurray, PA
Every good concrete project starts underground. Curbscapes runs its own excavation equipment, so the digging, grading, and base preparation for your patio, driveway, or wall is handled by the same crew that pours the finish — one contractor, one schedule, one standard of work.
We also take on standalone excavation and site-prep work: regrading for drainage, cutting into slopes, preparing pads for new construction, and tear-out of old concrete. On South Hills terrain, experience with slopes and water runoff isn't optional — it's the difference between concrete that lasts and concrete that cracks.

Excavation & Site Prep Questions
Why does site preparation matter for concrete?
Concrete is only as good as the base under it. Poorly compacted or badly drained ground settles and shifts, which is what cracks slabs. Proper excavation, compacted base material, and correct grading are what make a pour last for decades.
Do you do excavation work without a concrete pour?
Yes. We take on standalone residential excavation and grading projects — drainage regrades, slope work, tear-outs, and site prep for other construction.
Can you fix drainage problems in my yard?
Often, yes. Many drainage problems come down to grading — water moving toward the house or pooling instead of draining away. We regrade so water goes where it should, and can pair that with walls or hardscape where slopes need holding back.
