Driveways Questions
Is a concrete driveway better than asphalt?
Concrete typically lasts longer than asphalt (often 30+ years versus 15–20), needs less ongoing maintenance, stays cooler in summer, and offers far more finish options — colors, borders, and stamped accents. Asphalt costs less up front, but concrete usually costs less over the life of the driveway.
How soon can I drive on a new concrete driveway?
Plan on walking on it after 24–48 hours and parking vehicles on it after about 7 days. Concrete continues gaining strength for roughly 28 days after the pour.
Do you tear out and replace existing driveways?
Yes. We handle removal of the old surface, excavation and regrading of the base, and the new pour — all with our own crew, so there's no separate demolition contractor to schedule.
How thick should a concrete driveway be?
A standard residential driveway is poured at least 4 inches thick over a properly compacted base, with thicker sections where heavier vehicles will park. Correct base preparation matters as much as thickness, which is why we do our own excavation.
